so, i was traveling down I-75 this past saturday (1/3/10) thinking about prayer and my own personal prayer life. to say the least, i was convicted. let me walk you down my thought process.
i was reminded by God on how powerful the tool of prayer is. i think every christian in the world, real christian, would say when they thought about it, the power of prayer is huge and can actually change things. that when we pray, God Himself listens and things change. people change. circumstances change. and life changes. the conviction came in when i realized that i myself, dont pray enough. i feel like i have been shooting myself in the foot by having the single handedly most powerful tool in the world and…not using it.
it all started because i was thinking, oddly enough, about tiger woods and what he is going through. i couldn’t imagine being in his shoes right now and having to deal with the life challenges being thrown his way. my mind got going and i started to pray for him. when i was done praying i immediately felt guilty that i hadn’t prayed for him up until that point. then i started thinking BIG. what if, we as the christian twitter world all joined forces and lifted tiger woods up to the King of Kings and maybe, just maybe, through what he is going through, he could find Christ. what if enough people re-tweeted that they were praying for tiger woods to find Christ so much so that tiger woods himself saw this on twitter. now, he is going into his battle with Christ at the forefront of his mind. and he is changed.
i also thought about matt chandler and everything is going through right now with his cancer and i know there are people all over the world that are lifting him up and praying for him. would his outcome be any different if people wouldn’t have prayed for him? i dont know, but i dont want to find out either. what i do know is he is being prayed for by thousands if not millions and He is doing well thus far. so, lets keep that up.
with that being said, what if christians had a place to share in depth requests that they are going through in a place that other people, people they dont even know, could pray for them, re-tweet them, and lift them up? would things change? i think they would.

christians, it’s time to come together. Christ Himself says, where two or more are gathered (mathew 18:20), He will be there. so, lets come together, tweet by tweet, and change this world…
THE CHALLENGE:
-be real and post prayer request. there’s a lot better outcome if the whole world is praying for you.
- re-tweet at least one prayer request a day. care enough about your brother and sisters in Christ that you want them lifted up in prayer at all times….even if you dont even know them!
